Biography

Bernardo Wade (he/him) is a poet. His debut collection, A Love Tap, explores the nuances of patrilineal relationships in all their beautiful and sometimes terrible splendor, through the lenses of racial injustice, recovery, and spirituality, all converging on the landscape of his hometown, New Orleans, Louisiana.

He is currently working on more poems as a Wallace Stegner fellow at Stanford University. He also serves as a board member for the New Orleans Poetry Festival and as poetry editor for Obsidian. And though he’s published in a bunch of literary journals no one in his family has ever heard of, they remain proud of him, especially when they are featured in the poems. Wade is infatuated with Ed Roberson’s question, “Can you O.D. on life?”
